Walk-and-Talk Therapy on Chicago’s North Shore
Evidenced-based therapy that combines movement, nature, and conversation to support emotional well-being.
What to Expect
Walk-and-talk therapy combines evidence-based counseling with the calming effects of movement and nature.
Sessions take place on safe walking paths throughout Chicago’s North Shore at a comfortable pace, allowing conversation to flow naturally while maintaining the same professionalism and confidentiality as traditional office therapy.
Whether we walk side-by-side or pause to reflect along the way, the focus remains on helping you create the life you want.
Areas of Expertise
-
Anxiety can make it difficult to be fully present in your life. Persistent worry, racing thoughts, and a constant sense of "what if?" can leave you feeling exhausted and disconnected from the things that matter most.
Using evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we'll work together to better understand anxious thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build greater confidence in responding to life's challenges.
-
Depression often affects more than mood. It can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming, drain motivation, and leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to live.
Together, we'll identify meaningful, manageable steps forward using evidence-based approaches including Behavioral Activation and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Therapy can help you reconnect with your values, restore hope, and begin building a life that feels purposeful again.
-
Major life changes—even positive ones—can bring uncertainty, stress, and a sense that the strategies that once worked no longer do. Whether you're navigating parenthood, career changes, relationship shifts, divorce, an empty nest, or another season of transition, therapy can provide space to gain perspective and move forward with confidence.
I also have a special interest in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. Hormonal changes can affect emotional well-being, relationships, and daily functioning. With informed, compassionate support, we can navigate this season together and develop practical strategies for resilience and growth.
-
Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. As humans, we're wired for connection, yet conflict is an inevitable part of life. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I view people within the context of their families, friendships, and communities. Together, we'll explore patterns of communication, attachment, and connection so you can navigate conflict more effectively and build stronger, healthier relationships.
-
Traumatic experiences can leave us feeling stuck in patterns of fear, avoidance, or emotional overwhelm long after the event has passed. Healing begins by understanding how trauma affects both the mind and body. Drawing from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), along with exposure-based, cognitive, and narrative approaches, I help clients gradually process difficult experiences, reduce avoidance, and develop healthier ways of responding so trauma no longer defines their lives.
-
For clients who wish to incorporate their Christian faith into therapy, I welcome conversations about prayer, Scripture, and spiritual practices alongside evidence-based counseling. Research suggests that faith and spirituality can be meaningful sources of resilience, hope, and emotional well-being. My goal is to support the whole person, honoring both your psychological needs and your spiritual beliefs as we work toward healing and growth together.
